Women's Organisation for Rights and Development (WORD) has organised a poster competition among undergraduate students to support 16 days of activism in ending violence against women (VAW). Students of various institutions including Arid University, Preston University, Bahria University, Fatima Jinnah University, Iqra University, NUST (SADA School) and Roots College International took part in the competition and expressed their emotions to create awareness on VAW in the society.

Talking to APP here on Thursday, Chairperson WORD, Aqsa Khan said, a panel of renowned judges will announce a winner and the runners-up; while the rest of the participants will be awarded appreciation certificates. She said the competition is being organised to show solidarity with One Billion Rising (OBR) campaign, a global move demanding an end to violence against women.

"OBR is a cause where one billion voices will arise against the injustice faced by women", she stated adding, it is striving to relinquish the stereotypical oppression of the weaker gender, namely women. Moreover, OBR campaign is a celebration of the liberty of females achieved over the centuries.
